As a musical theatre major at University of Michigan, I was the girl in dance class with all of the enthusiasm and rhythm but none of the flexibility, grace or balance. It wasn't until I stretched into my very first Trikonasana at an NYC Equinox that I finally felt the tightness and awkwardness fall away: it was a connection to my breath and physicality I never knew I possessed.
A love of the practice led to a change of coasts and careers: I left my Broadway stage career in New York and moved to LA in 2002. I have been teaching full time in LA since then, and currently I teach at my home studio of the last 20 years, Center For Yoga, on Larchmont.
I was a founding teacher at Wanderlust Hollywood where I also worked as the in studio music supervisor, and was a contributor to Wanderlust’s Teacher Training.
I’ve been practicing and teaching yoga for over 2 decades, and during that time I’ve extensively studied classical postural yoga modalities— Ashtanga is my go-to practice. I’ve also taken deep dives into newer movement systems like Anusara and Sridaiva. I’m also a Tracy Anderson Method fan… nothing is off limits.
I’m passionate about dynamic movement and keeping the body vibrant and agile, and I love sharing what I’ve learned.
A class with me will challenge your body and make you sweat, but ideally it will also connect you to a glimpse of higher self.
A longtime student recently summed it up so well, saying, “your class is the perfect blend of the gym, therapy, and church.”
High praise, what I will always try to deliver when I teach.
See you on the mat.
